Liz is the Parish Council Clerk and Proper Officer (Finance), which is a salaried position.
She attends Parish Council and Planning meetings, takes minutes and writes letters on behalf of the council to the District and County Council, other agencies and individuals.
Liz liaises with councillors on issues concerning the Parish Council, and prepares a monthly article for the parish magazine.
She represents the council on occasions at meetings with the District and County Council.
Liz is responsible for the accounting of the council (including collection of allotment rents), Village Hall and Playing Field, and prepares the audit.
She is responsible for ensuring that Councillors adhere to the Code of Conduct, and keeps Councillors up to date with policy changes in many areas.

Brenda is the Chairman of the Planning Committee, and responsible for receiving planning applications, arranging planning meetings and reporting to the council on planning issues.

Brenda is the Parish Council representative for the Travers Trust.

Sue is the Chairman of Environment (including Village Care) Committee and Joint Chairman of the Footpaths Committee. She reports to the Council on issues concerning: allotments; refuse collection; dog bin emptying; litter; verge cutting; overhanging hedges; and areas such as the Bevernside and Village Green - in fact anything which needs attention to improve and maintain the environment of the village.
Sue also represents the Parish Council and residents of West Gate on the Village Hall Committee.

Katie also represents the Parish Council on the Village Action Plan Committee. - as implementation develops Katie will table update reports to the Parish Council.

Tom is the Lewes District Councillor (LDC) for Plumpton, Streat, East Chiltington and St John (without).
LDC have responsibility for a range of services including recycling & refuse collection, planning & building control, environmental health, homelessness and leisure facilities.
Tom is the LDC Representative on the South Downs Joint Committee and Action in Rural Sussex. He is chairman of the Plumpton Village Action Plan Committee and LDC Rural Voices Rural Choices, he sits on the LDC Crime Reduction Partnership and manages the Speed Indicator Device (SID) Project in rural areas.
