Plumpton Parish Council

Plumpton and East Chiltington Wildlife Group

Plumpton Wildlife & Habitat Group was founded in 2009 to promote and protect the Parish’s fauna and flora and their habitats and to encourage local residents to appreciate and get involved in conserving wildlife habitats.

The group has recently completed a major survey of the Parish wildlife habitats. Other activities include regular bat, butterfly, house martin and dormouse monitoring and surveys; installation of bat, owl and bird boxes; creation of new wildflower areas at Plumpton Station; advising local landowners and East Sussex County Council on wildflower meadow and verge management, and organising walks, tours and other activities for PW&HG members and other village residents.

Membership costs £5.00 per household for a year and the income raised goes towards funding new projects and equipment.
